Wollemi Capital
Completed: 2024
Wollemi is a workplace fit-out for global climate specialist investment firm, Wollemi Capital. Ciliberto Architects were engaged to design the company’s headquarters, located on Macquarie Street in Sydney’s CBD, with a brief to create a workplace focused on high quality design underpinned by a sustainable ethos.
Our objective was to create a robust environment that approached sustainable design, fabrication and material sourcing in a holistic way.
The interior was conceptualised as a series of independent elements, designed for longevity and with disassembly in mind. Should the client need to relocate, the existing fit-out could be unbolted from the site and repurposed in a new space.
Economy of structure, achieved through close collaboration with our structural engineer, ensured the designed elements use the minimum amount of material required, whilst maintaining a durable, flexible and unexpected design outcome.
Priority was placed on sourcing local materials and using refurbished furniture pieces over purchasing new items. Moruya granite and NSW Blackbutt veneer were both sourced & processed entirely within New South Wales, with the natural granite coming from the same quarry that supplied granite to the nearby Sydney Harbour Bridge close to a century ago.
